Teela is a sweet, gentle girl who absolutely loves people. She has a soft, affectionate nature and enjoys cuddles and attention. New experiences can be overwhelming for her, but Teela has shown us that with patience and reassurance, she can let go of her uncertainty and enjoy herself.
Her Story
Teela is one of Max and Sasha's puppies. She was born behind a shopping mall along a busy highway in Dbayye, Lebanon. Sasha and all nine of her puppies were eventually found in a flooded pothole. Teela and six of her siblings went on to battle leptospirosis and, thankfully, are now healthy and ready for their next chapter.
Teela has spent her entire life in a shelter environment, so the world beyond those familiar surroundings is still very new to her.

What She Needs
Teela is a sensitive girl who needs time to understand that she is safe. New places, unfamiliar people, sudden noises, and experiences she has never encountered before can leave her a bit scared.
Her recent Doggy Date gave us some beautiful insight into how Teela responds when she is given that time.
During her first grooming session, she was understandably confused, but she handled the experience remarkably well. After some time, she relaxed and was able to enjoy the attention. At the café, everything was unfamiliar but Little by little, she relaxed. Treats, ice cream, and a puppuccino certainly helped her come out of her shell!
She will need a patient and experienced adopter who is willing to let her decompress and experience new things at her own pace. Leash walking, housetraining, household routines, and all the sights and sounds of living in a home will be new to her. She will thrive in an environment where she has the opportunity to build confidence through positive experiences.
Teela is highly food-motivated, which will be a wonderful tool for helping her learn. With consistency, patience, and a calm and predictable environment, she will realize that she is safe, and her sweet, affectionate personality will shine even brighter.
