HUTCH
Currently in Lebanon — ready to travel to Canada once he finds his match.
Hutch is a sweet and gentle boy with a very sensitive soul. He is cautious in unfamiliar environments and can become overwhelmed by new people, sudden movements, and unexpected sounds. But beneath his uncertainty is a dog who wants to understand the world around him. When given time, patience, and a calm environment, Hutch is able to slowly settle, explore, and show glimpses of the confident dog he could become.
His Story
Hutch is one of Max and Sasha's puppies. He was born behind a shopping mall along a busy highway in Dbayye, Lebanon. Sasha and all nine of her puppies were eventually found in a flooded pothole. Hutch and six of his siblings went on to battle leptospirosis and, thankfully, are now healthy and doing well.
Hutch has spent his entire life in a shelter environment. That is the only world he has ever known, which helps explain why stepping into unfamiliar surroundings can be so overwhelming for him.

What He Needs
Hutch needs an adopter who understands that confidence cannot be rushed. His recent outing gave us a better understanding of what he needs to succeed. In busy or unfamiliar environments, Hutch can become frightened. But there is another side to Hutch.
When taken somewhere quiet and surrounded by nature, he was noticeably more comfortable. With the environment kept calm and predictable, he began exploring and appeared to genuinely enjoy himself.
Hutch will need a patient and experienced adopter who is willing to move at his pace, respect his boundaries, and celebrate small victories. A calm, predictable household would be ideal, with someone who can give him the time and space he needs to learn that new experiences don't have to be frightening. Hutch would do well with another dog to help him gain confidence.
Hutch has already shown us that when the world around him feels safe, he can relax, explore, and begin to enjoy himself. With the right person and the right environment, we believe there is tremendous potential for this sweet boy to build confidence and discover a much bigger world than the shelter he has always known.
