Kira is the definition of resilience wrapped in softness. She has a quiet, loyal presence and a sweetness that feels incredibly special the kind of dog who chooses her people deeply and stays by their side.
Her Story
Kira was found collapsed and barely alive. A kind passerby rushed her to the nearest hospital, where vets feared the worst. She arrived severely dehydrated, covered in ticks, her body stiff with a locked jaw and fighting a serious infection.
She was on the edge.
Despite everything, Kira refused to give up. She fought through intensive treatment, including what was believed to be a severe case of meningitis — and slowly, incredibly, made a full recovery. Kira is a fighter. And now, she deserves a life where she never has to fight again.

Shelter staff say Kira is truly special. She naturally stays close, follows the shelter helper everywhere and is just happy to be near.
Because of her past, she can be sensitive and may flinch when hands are raised around her. But underneath that is a dog who wants nothing more than to trust and feel safe.
What She Needs
Kira is looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to build confidence and feel secure. With time, kindness, and consistency, Kira will blossom into an incredibly devoted companion. She has already proven how strong she is.
