MILA
My wife Paola and I adopted Mila from rescuer Soraya, she was part of the Tripawd Squad in Jan 2021
The 3-3-3 rule is very true (3 days, 3 weeks, 3months)
During the first week, Mila only ever really stayed in her bed. Not comfortable enough to discover the house yet.
Every day saw little improvements, slowly she started wandering around the home, a few new steps at a time.
We are lucky that Mila already knew to do her business outside, with only a single time she went inside (it was our fault, we kept her inside for too long, it was -30 in Mtl and didn't want her to go outside)
Here we are about 6-7 weeks later, and she is almost completely out of her shell
She takes US on walks, not the other way around. Now with snow melting, she is rediscovering her usual parks
We have not had too many interactions with other dogs, as she tends to growl at others as we pass them by so we hurry on. Maybe this summer we will consider a dog park close by, but we're not in a hurry.
She is now master of the couch, loves chewing her treats, and is such a lovely doggo to have!
